The Oxford vs Cambridge Boatrace 2006! (I'll be there!)
I just thought I would let everyone know that i will be down on the riverside cheering on the crews doing their races at the annual Oxford Cambridge boatrace this Sunday! I can't wait! Unfortunately in previous years I have only had the chance to see it on TV rather than for real. As Will knows I have a bit of a soft spot for rowers. It's something about their strength, stamina and skill! Those guys are just awesome. Now I guess you are wondering which side I will be cheering on... well to be honest ......

In fact if you want to participate in the Q & A ......

Mobile Web 2.0 (Discuss!) (part 1)
OK well I got into the beginnings of a discussion with Daniel Appelquist this evening about how we go about defining the Mobile Web 2.0 movement. The first question that came up was do you mean mobile-web 2.0 or mobile web-2.0? So to define... I think there are 2 parts to this discussion, firstly web 2.0 in relation to mobile devices (mobile-web 2.0)i.e. the extensions of web 2.0 applications to mobile devices, and secondly the mobile version of web 2.0 (mobile web-2.0) i.e. the recent distinct steps ......

Windows Live Jacket :)
My Windows Live jacket arrived in the post this morning. It's actually pretty nice! I was surprised, pleasantly surprised with it. :) I've not heard all that much from the guys working over there on the team recently and I do wonder what their next big surprise will be... what they have been working on over the last few months. It all seems to be being kept under wraps at the moment. I guess they are looking at getting something funky out there again this month.... Time will tell. Anyway, I just ......

DDDIII talk - Choose my subject & title!
If you would like to see me do a DDDIII talk at Developer Developer Developer in Reading in the summer then this is your chance to suggest a subject and title for me to talk on. Bear in mind it must be technical and ideally on a subject matter that I know well (or one that I could learn well in that time!) Please post your suggestions. How to plan a Girly Geek Dinner!
People sometimes wonder how I manage to plan, manage and arrange our London Girl Geek Dinners. All I can say is what I do and why. Hopefully this information may be helpful to other people who want to organise their own events, or maybe even other girl geek dinners around the world. Firstly I choose a date that I think will be a good one for an event, i.e. a date that doesn't conflict with any other developer or techie type events in my case. Then I start figuring out a venue that has the required ......

Ultra Mobile PC's (UMPC's)
Well everyone knows all about the over hyped evil Origami PR and marketing campaign. And no I am not going to talk about that. All I will say is next time don't over hype things, it just leads to disappointment and extremely high expectations from users which have no foundation! What I am going to talk about here are a few potential issues that we should be considering with battery, CPU and screen limited devices such as the UMPC. The issues that will arise with Ultra Mobile PC's (UMPC's) that will ......

Windows Live Search & their other products
I had a quick look over the latest Windows Live Search product that was released earlier this week. On the whole I was quite impressed. It gave me information about people who link to my blog and who talk about London Girl Geek Dinners that I never knew exisited. Some don't come up on the Google search at all. However on the other side of things, the list that is there is not extensive and although it stated a set number of results it didn't show all the results that it said were available. It seems ......
