After installing the 2.0 framework beta, Outlook's Business Contact Manager doesn't load. It just gives the generic "Do you wish to report this..." error. This happened to me a couple months ago and then to my co-worker this morning. Anybody else seen this?

I just spent the day trying to figure what went wrong with my Business Contact Manager. It wouldn't load, error screen etc. etc.

Well it was so simple once I remembered fiddling with some of the SERVICES settings. (I have win XP)

The MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM must be set to automatic. I had changed its settings to manual. BCM opened immediately after I reset to auto. Hope this is all your problem is JB.

I've been using BCM for years. About 3 weeks ago, it would not load my database. I finally uninstalled the BCM and reinstalled and it worked for 3 weeks. Now it's down again. When I do a search, I find MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM & MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM(2) & MSSQL$MICROSOFTSMLBIZ & 80 & 80(2).. I do have a SQL sever on my taskbar, but it's always showed as not connected and there's nothing listed in the server or services.

Since posting my last question, I went to another help site and was able to find the server in the Control Panel. I reset it to "manual" and started it and now BCM is running. Does this mean I need to go into the Control Panel each time? or should I reset it to Automatic.

# BCM OpenProperty: cannot open properties which are computed
Requesting Gravatar...
Hi,

I have Office Pro 2003 with BCM; today I have also installed BCM 2.0 with the latest hotfixes and service packs, including the latest .NET 2.0 updates. Inspite of this I receive the above very annoying error message each time I try to save a business contact.

Does anyone have a working solution that fixes the "OpenProperty: cannot open properties which are computed" error message?

Thanks, Bertold

# Outlook 2007 BCM could not complete the last action

I was receiving a message that Outlook 2007 BCM could not complete the last action when I was attempting to open it. The message would appear no less than nine times before I was able to exit the BCM and return to my inbox.

I thought that deleting the profile would have fixed the problem but I was wrong. I also tried the Office Diagnostic, repairing
Office via the Add/Remove Programsand utilizing the repair option after
inserting disk of Office 2007.

How do I set permission in BCM backup file so I can "restore" the file on a new computer? When I try to restore onto new PC that has Outlook 2007 and Business Contact Manager 2007. The file I want to restore is a Outlook BCM 2003. ...but for some reason - Outlook BCM 2007 is telling me I don't have permission to access the file. Your detailed suggestions to solve this problem are welcome. Thank you!

Does anyone know how to remove users from a shared database, I have had trouble with a couple of passwords so I want to remove the users and start again, but can't find any info on how to remove the user permanently from the list - I am using Windows 7 with Outlook 2007.

thanks!
