Sandu's Blog Views on life as a techie

For the past couple of weeks i've been looking at several implementations of open source content management systems(CMS). This is because i have been entrusted, along with another developer to develop a CMS product to augment the rest of the e-Governance product suite, which we have developed already. After reviewing a lot of CMS products i have finally come to the conclusion that Cuyahoga is the product i'm going to move ahead with. Although it is still a very basic system with a relatively limited developer community, i am confident i can help make it to a classy product :) btw the term Cuyahoga is a indian name for crooked river. I believe there is a river by that name in US.

The time has come to get my hands dirty and design and implement the customizations as required for our product, especially since my PM just got back from an overseas trip :D

Have you not tried DotNetNuke!?!?!? Seriously, DNN is absolutely great and looks like it provides the same thing as Cuyahoga... not to mention it's easier to say :-P

Actually I did try DNN. DNN is written in VB.NET and im more of a C# guy. I know thats pretty lame :). Another reason was I wanted a more flexible and if possible smaller system so thats I can quickly understand and customize according to my requirements.
Anyways thanks for the comment. Yeah I know its tough to pronouns that word. I'm still not sure i'm saying it right :)

mmm... I'm also recomending DNN 'coz some times back I did a small research on it. It dosent matter it has been developped using vb.net. You could use any .net language for developing custom modules. And in the first look it seems very complex but believe me, after some time you will be comfortably playing with it.
