Some websites really pi$$ me off!!!

I recently did an article to help people get started with B2B solutions with BizTalk.  It was an overview based on a number of resources I have studied, with pointers to places to find more information.  The location of this post is below:

Now I dont really mind too much those sites that aggregate blog feeds so long as they reference back to the source of the article.  We all know they make money out of this by aggregating your content and sticking adverts around it.  This is a little cheeky but I can live with it.  What however has really pissed me off this week is the following site:

http://www.nuovoportale.com/

They have aggregated my article like I described and show it at the link below, what is different though to the way nuovoportale do it to say someone like topxml.com is that if you post a comment on nuvoportale it doesnt actually come to my blog and instead stays on their site.

One of the reasons I blog is that I come across interesting situations particularly related to BizTalk and if I write an article about it then it is good to get feedback from others and start a discussion about things.  On nuvoportale any comments dont go back to the author and it means any discussion is not in one place.

Im quite annoyed at this but unfortunately nuvoportale done seen to have a contact us feature to ask them to either stop this.

Id be interested to know what anyone else thinks.  I think from now on ill be sticking something at the top of each article.

I wasn't aware any of the content leeches... err... aggregators drove comments back to the originator. I thought they ALL kept the comments locally.

While the "legality" of this is questionable (and dependant of geographic location of both entities), it is definately "morally wrong" and "conceptual theft"

One tactic I have used when dealing with sites that do NOT post contact information is simple...visit the registrar and find out who "owns" the site. A certified letter to that organization stating that you are initiating legal action, and requesting a response will often do wonders.

TopXml have a link to the source article which directs people to put comments on your original blog post, I think this is good and shows they are well intentioned.

Im trying to find contact details for the site which is proving tricky. Failing that i might contact companies advertising on their site and ask what they think about the what they do

Comletely agree Mike, don't mind them aggregating content as long as the source is properly acknowledged and a link exists to the original post.

common sense really.

too bad too many web sites don't do either!

Michael,
I just had a look at that site today and they have put in an Article Source tag right at the end which points to your blog!! Maybe they did this recently!!

I’m not sure what the problem is actually. Your post is on some other website and if the visitor commented something on that website, I am not sure how that comment would end up in your blog instead. If I am wrong about it do explain how. river ranch resort rv resorts in texas

Copying is a huge issue in the case of online blogs. Even though Search engines doesn't promote such copied contents we all know many people do this copying method to promote their blogs. It is disturbing to watch our content, .wireless internet service providers in my area in someone else's wall without any credits to the author
