Today was the last day at the media company I was with. I was only there for 3 months, but I was kinda of saddened to leave, even though it had partly been my choice to go.Its a real shame they where so far away from where I live. Well, far away is a real relative term in the Netherlands, where actual geographical distance seems tiny, until you factor in time spent in traffic jams, or trying to get connecting trains.. and the latter is still my case as I still don't have a drivers licence. If they ......
http://weblog.infoworld.com... John Udell’s blog: Jon's RadioKind of amazing how well it works. The service was disabled on my pc, just turned it on, will play with it tomorrow when its had a chance to index stuff. Now.. it could well be that many many people already knew about this, and about the use of “!”, but if John Udell didn’t know about it, I am not embarresed to have been ignorrent about it also! ......

Usage of my blog has been sporadic the past few weeks. This is mostly due to not being able to effectively blog at work, because for some reason, Blogjet is not able to communicate properly through our proxy. Probably for the same reason RSS Bandit wont collect feeds here, so I use Bloglines for my RSS browsing at work now. I have actually opened a call on the issue, and the network guys will be looking into it when they can; I told them it was ultra low priorty. But the guy agreed that if it was ......

I am chaning the status to this issue to SOLVEDI can confirm that the solution suggested by Tori in the comments works. the following program exeptions must be added to your firewall policy in order for the Logical Disk Management Service to be accesable through the firewall, dispite having already turned on the options Allow Remote Administration Exception and Allow File and Printer Sharing ......
Oke
so I, and millions like my dont floss or use toothpics enough, and we get to hear about it every visit to the dentists
Well on my way back from work today, Andy Ihnatko pitched a rather good idea to me, curtisy of the brainfood, in which he basicly got his flossing done while waiting for his Mac to unfreeze, just by keeping the floss on his desk. Coincidentily, he also learned to play the ukulele this way.So today I actually went and bought some floss and toothpics (first time in my ......
Just finished up on another tech chat for In The TrenchesIts really is so cool, I never get tired of participating in this stuff. Originally we had Chuck Tomasi on board for the chat, but he had to leave, so we continued on with me, Kevin and Dave Johnson (Edave.org) on Security as the topic of focus, but ended up talking about all kinds of other stuff aswell. The tech chat when edited will be on the security stuff though.. ......
Techdirt:Companies Find IM Saves Them Money While companies that promote IM monitoring software have been going around trying to convince companies that using IM at work is bad, it appears that most companies know better... or simply don't know enough to care. It's now estimated that 85% of businesses use instant messaging in some manner, though, that seems quite high. Does that apply to things like Mom & Pop retail shops? However, more interesting is the fact that some are actually trying to ......
http://www.xs4all.nl/~jemim... I had to turn off Symantec corperate edition first.. and allow everything on IE SP2 security bar, only then did it actually hit MS Anti-Spyware. Some reports in the blogosphere about slow web surfing with all 3 agents on... I will give you my experiences after I try it a few days ......
Life of a one-man IT department – Mike McBride After my experiences today I'm reconsidering the way I look at password policies. I had to go around and install the new drivers for that Canon copier/printer today on about 15 machines. The install involved installing the Canon LPR port, installing the print driver, restarting, and then entering the Department ID information for the print job accounting functions. So I would sit down at a PC, run the installers, and ask the user to enter their ......
