Different custom workflow for same page creation and modification from browser Doesn't Work

Let’s say, your requirement is to make two custom workflow for the same page creation and modification. It means one workflow for page creation and one for page modification. You can do it in the following way by choosing two different option for workflow individually from the browser.

Start this workflow when a new item is created.

Start this workflow when an item is changed.

But it doesnt work fine in this way. There is some disadvantage of this approch such as change workflow is recursive if there is more than one approver. When the approver approved that create another workflow and so on. And designer can see the Accept option though it shouldn’t. Another problem is the change workflow is recursive if there is two or more approver. when one workflow complete then another workflow start one after another. May be, It's a microsoft sharepoint bug.

So the suggession is to create Custom workflow from Designer for this kind of requirement. Fow any kind of problem you can put your feedback.

With Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer 2007, you can design workflows that add application logic to your site or application without having to write custom code
