So I started my diet plan yesterday. Luckily I only have to do it every second day, because the first day was a real struggle.
Now, at this point you're probably thinking that I gave in to the pizza party we had for our church youth group last night, or that I had a huge helping of carb-filled pasta at Olive Garden yesterday. But no, that's not the struggle I'm talking about.
Y'see, most people associate "diet" with "less-food". But no...my "diet" plan consists of 5 meals a day.
Meal 1: 2 eggs, bowl of oatmal, 1 orange
Meal 2: 6oz fish, cup of veg, flax seed
Meal 3: 4oz chicken, 1/2 avocado, cup of veg, .5 orange
Meal 4: 8oz chicken, cup of veg, .5 cup of rice
Meal 5: Scoop of protein, 1 orange
So you look at that and think - that doesn't look too bad. Well, try and EAT IT. I had 4 of the 5 meals I was supposed to have yesterday, and I was never hungry throughout the day...in fact, cooking up meal 4 last night at 10 pm and trying to shove it down was almost a workout in itself.
We even went to Olive Garden yesterday for lunch. The waiter gave me a weird look when I said "I'll have Chicken Giardino...but without the pasta and extra veggitables." Oddly enough, I don't have the same cravings I used to have though...its almost like, with a meal plan, your day isn't ruled by which food you're going to put into your mouth. So we'll see what the rest of this week is like.
