So I'm in a client meeting a few weeks ago. There's myself, our business analyst, a guy from a different company, and two people from the client business (one techie, one business). Now, they're all great guys, but this was just too funny.
So we're all talking about how to solve the issue that we're all meeting about, when the business guy from our client looks at me and says, “Hockey.”
The discussion stops...”I'm sorry?” I say, a little be-wildered.
“Hockey.” he says again. I must have looked confused, and I was, because he explained “Your tooth...you lost it in hockey?.”
Now...I haven't lost any teeth. But thanks to genetics, I do have a slight gap between my front two teeth.
“No, no lost teeth, just genetics.” I said with a smile and we all had an awkward chuckle and moved on.
It was no big deal, and actually I felt worse for the guy than anything else. But just goes to show you just can never guess what may happen in a client meeting.
