All I wanted for Christmas was Vick in the playoffs...

Well, world peace, children, etc. etc. as well...but instead of getting into heavy subjects about faith, loss, and hope (or lessness of said hope), let's keep it light this Christmas day and talk about what could have been.

In an amazing duel the Bucs came out on top just barely against my beloved Atlanta Falcons, ending their playoff hopes. Its too bad, because with Carolina losing it would have made a great showdown next week between Atlanta and Carolina. But alas, its not meant to be.

They say football is a game of inches, and when you look back at the Falcons losses this year that becomes painfully apparant. Four of their seven losses were by three points, with only one game this season being a real blowout.

So we look on to next year, but not without seeing a great improvement in this team since coach Mora came on. Sure, they may not make the playoffs this year, but when you look at the strides they've made (Atlanta is 11th overall in total offense and 1st overall in rushing) there's alot to look forward to next year.

And ultimately, football is entertainment, and the Falcons have put on some of the most entertaining football all season.
