Hi Friends,
I gave the Beta exam for
70-483 Programming in C#
back in August 2012 and passed and from what I can remember if you have about a year of working knowledge you should be able to pass it no worries, however a little bit of studies will assure you will pass :) this exam, it is one of the three exams and counts towards the new
MCSD: Windows Store Apps certification
title.
Alright my preparation, i've worked in C# since it started but not so much anymore, nevertheless as I said earlier its not that hard of an exam. I skimmed through of the topics in the
skills measured
section of the exam, to see which areas I wanted to revise and then looked them up in the following books :
1. Manning.C# in.Depth,2nd Edition,2010 // Jon skeet never disappoints its readers
2. Sams.Unleashed.C#.4.0 // As the name says its Unleashed :-)
3. Wrox.Professional.C#.4.&.dotNet.4 2010 // Nice differentiation of topics and reading format
4. MSPress.CLR.via.C# (4th.Edition) 2012 // This books has really Good Reviews and covers C# 5.0
If you have time you can also skim over some topics in the below book, nice description of C# evolution:
Manning.C# in.Depth what.you.need.to.master-C#2and3
Anyways thats enough of me rambling, now for the new highly effective Video style preparation which Microsoft Virtual Academy is presenting for free to help with this exam, the below one day course:

March 13, 2013

The course covers C#, Microsoft’s managed C-style language for the .Net Framework. In typical Jump Start fashion, every stop of this course is going to be example-driven. Microsoft Technical Evangelist

Daren May
, will craft sample after sample in real time to show simple and complex techniques you can take back to your workplace.
Tailored for intermediary to seasoned developers looking to bulk up on C# or for a refresher on core concepts and features. As an accelerated one-day version of a five-day course, Jerry and Daren will not be able to completely cover a language as rich as C#, but they will spark the interest of newbies and the confidence of professionals. Buckle up, will be fun and fast-paced!
