posted earlier on my other blog (www.danwoolston.com) but i thought i'd drop it here: One of the cooler things about the Ajax.Net library is the ability to pass custom classes and collections back to the client side javascript. M. Schwarz’s documentation is somewhat lacking, so I’ll endeavor to shed some light on the process. We’ll ......

found this cool asp.net page cycle diagram out on the web. i'd give you the link for it but i've forgotten the site and cleared history. anyway, enjoy: i had to shrink the image down, but if you “save as” or drag the image to the address bar of the browser, you'll have the full sized image. it makes for good cube wallpaper. ......

Given the rather disturbing trend of Xbox 360's overheating, I found it rather ironic when I came across this article on bloombergs site: read the article for yourself at: http://quote.bloomberg.com/... you gotta be careful what you say about your products ......

o.k. everything i said about the sql server stock ftp task in my earlier post should be forgotten and uninstalled from your long term memory. after running one of my ftp scripts for a few days of testing, i've noticed that the ftp object isnt the most reliable control in the world. the ftp would work sporadically and for a mission critical update process....sporadic ......

if anyone knows of a really good DTS packages backup utility, I'd sure love to here about it.our current product, does an almost-decent job of migrating them from server to server, however its screwing up the visual aspect of the job and losing a few workflow processes along the way. Case In Point: The original package:And now the ugliness it became, ......

Lookout! Run! Flee! Its the End Times! The Apocalypse Has Come!Surely the end is nigh, because I actually bought an Apple product today. I stopped by the Apple store today and after being molested by numerous people in fruity t-shirts i was able to lay ownership to the new Apple Nano. I picked up the 2 gig player in Apple White flavor. I originally ......

ugh. i'm really wishing that sql server 2000 dts package execution had a "start and run from this step" type of deal. I have this huge package (hehehe......sigh) and when it crashes in the midst of it, i'd like to be able to correct the sql/activex script and then resume it. but nope. i gotta execute each step individually if i want to continue down ......

oh how i hate you yahoo. your crap is off my puter for good now. i elected not to install the extra sh!t, but yet...there it is. the new update is crap. i hope the ass thats responsible for the yahoo clutter gets nad cancer soon ......

So you wanna use Sql Server 2000 DTS to go out and pull down some files via an Ftp site? Simple right? Well what if your vendor is using dated filenames (i.e. 050805.zip)? not so simple anymore. i had a really hard time finding information on todays task and i'm passing the solution on to others: 1. Create your new DTS package.2. Drag an FTP Task on ......

holy crap! i've seen everything now. snoop dogg and mr. Iacocca together pushing cars on t.v. chrysler must really be digging deep into the marketing bucket. the only redeeming value i can see to this whole affair is that mr. iacocca is donating his appearance fees to a diabetic charity fund ......

google talk is out. i have it. but my contact list is notably absent of contacts. guess i need to add some gmail contacts now. my first "gut reaction" to the application is that its pretty cool. i like that skype-like service is built into the framework. i'd like to try that out today with a headset. i'll post again later after i've had a chance to ......

CCNet 1.0 RC1 is now released and available for download. The release is a copy of build 1.0.0.1062 . Download: http://sourceforge.net/proj... See the CCNet 1.0 RC1 Release Notes ......

One of the blogs that I frequent is Dan Applemans. I've read a few of his books and he always has something interesting to say on his site. Tonite i was browsing the web at Paneras and their filter caught his site as being “Cult/Occult”. I thought that was pretty darned funny. Now i understand why we all buy his books. Its cause Mr. Appleman ......
