Chris G. Williams Beware: I mix tech and personal interests here.

This is not directed at the techno-elite (those of you who have just enough free time to read my blog). This is directed at the friends and family of the previously mentioned techno-elite. Ok... MY friends and family, mostly, but you all know someone this applies to as well.

I hope everyone realizes by now how absurd these emails are that claim Microsoft will donate 1 cent to a homeless parapalegic hermaphroditic toddler in Indonesia for every time you forward an email to your friends. Repeat after me, I am gullible! (Which by the way, is not in the dictionary. Don't believe me? Look it up!)

The only thing these mass forward chainletter emails accomplish is providing telemarketers and SPAM mongers with a nice easy list of zillions of email addresses of gullible people. Repeat after me, Microsoft is not experimenting with a new email tracking technology. They aren't donating money to people who clog up the internet with 10,000 line emails containing 9,999 lines of "Forward To" headers.

Trust me.

Also, ZoneAlarm is NOT antivirus software, popups are NOT viruses, and clicking yes every time a dialog box pops up WILL render your ironclad security completely ineffective. Read before you click.

Now please pass this on to 10 of your friends and tell them to each send me a dollar, and send it to 10 of their friends who will each send them a dollar in return... I promise.
