Props To HP Part II
Just to finish up on my props to HP Part I, I got my 2 GB (2 x 1024) RAM from Crucial.Com. The whole experience end-to-end from Crucial was great (even with a little hick-up). Crucial was outstanding and provided free over-night shipping. The hick-up was a delay on the over-night service from UPS. No big deal, the airplane was delayed somewhere along the route and it came a day later than expected. But it wasn't a big deal, because I knew the status the whole way via excellent tracking from Crucial ......

What is the future of VB.Net
Eric Johnson picked up on a very interesting thing when he blogged about the Visual Basic Coding Conventions posted on MSDN. It would appear there are differences in Visual Basic and C#. Who knew??? I mean beyond the usual semicolon thing of course. And the Visual Basic Coding Conventions document tells us to embrace these differences. Such as using the Visual Basic Name space and instantiating objects with Dim x as New ... Eric points out that the other .Net languages (C#) do it differently. You ......

Props To HP
I often complain, berate, and otherwise just trash technology companies for the never ending line of glitchy products they produce and I buy. It dawned on me today that I don't give enough props when they are due. This is usually because when something works so well I just take it for granted. Well, I'm going to fix that today for at least one thing. As I was ordering a 2 GB memory upgrade for my HP Pavilion zt3010us I realized.... “I love this thing”. I've owned this laptop for about ......

Don't foget the N3UG meeting tonight at SetFocus in Parisppany. Peter Laudetti is the new Developer Evangelist for Microsoft's .NET Team. He does an excellent presentation on Enterprise Libraries and will be our presenter tomorrow night. Given it is the holiday season, there will be pizza preceeding the meeting (starting around 5:30) and a casual gathering at the Chevy's around the corner following the meeting.... --chaz ......

Rock on TIVO
For a company that I thought was ready to bight the dust I am pleasantly surprised at the latest features released by the DVR pioneer. I've loved my TIVO from the very beginning, but their latest innovations are WOW. And I hope that this is just the beginning. I can now get Yahoo Weather and Traffic on my TIVO. I can get broadcasts. I can get tickets via Fandango. Yeah sure these are all things I can do on my computer, but it's cool and convenient to do it on my TV too. One simple suggestion ......

Community Members Selling Ads on Free Community Blog Sites
Oh come on DonXML! Don't you think you are being a little hard on those that sell ads on their blogs. Even if the hosting is provided free of charge, shouldn't people be able to be rewarded for their time and effort in gathering and creating their content? Now regarding CommunityServer I agree with you and applaud your integrity! There is absolutely no reason for somebody to use it and earn a buck without purchasing the license. First of all it is so inexpensive that there is no excuse not to pay ......
