The opinions expressed within are my own and should not be attributed to any other Individual, Company or the one I work for. I just happen to be a classic techie who is passionate about getting things to work as they should do (and are sometimes advertised and marketed as being able to?) and when I can I drop notes here to help others falling in to the same traps that I have fallen in to. If this has helped then please pass it on - if you feel that I have commented in error or disagree then please feel free to discuss with me either publically or privately? Cheers, Dave

Jason Langridge reports that Vista RC1 is ready for download.....  go get it......
You can download RC1 from
HERE or order a DVD

Interestingly enough I'm quite keen to try this in a new format I was testing this morning. I have a slightly slow (1Ghz) CPU on a Tosh Portege with a relaitively slow drive. So I was experimenting with a new USB 2.0 case fitted with a 100Gb Samsung 7,200 RPM drive and it really rocks.

I was running a 6Gb image of Mac Tiger OS 10.4 in a VMware session straight from the USB Drive and it was quite snappy in performance, certainly way better than running it from the internal HDD.

So know I'm interested in running Vista RC1 straight from the USB via VMware.

If this looks good I can use any laptop, PC or Server that's available, just plug in the USB Drive and then run my Virtual PC from the folder......
