AzamSharp Some day I will know everything. I hope that day never comes.

Someone once said that the best way to learn the new technology is to build several application that are implemented in it. I will be starting to make a small application about How to create a simple TODO Task Application. This application will be implemented in ASP.NET 2.0 using C# and SQL SERVER 2000.

I will cover the whole process of this application in the form of articles on my website www.gridviewguy.com. This will be a small series of articles. I hope you like this small series of articles.

Happy Coding!

Azam,

Your enthusiasm is great, but isnt' it a bit much to use a MS SQL 2000 to just manage a todo list?

Hi Shey,

You can offcourse use the Access database to make this TODO List. I am using SQL SERVER because maybe in the future developers find it usefull to extend it. Also SQL SERVER gives you the ability to write Stroed Procedures which is not available in Access Database.

Also in my opinion its much to trace and debug queries in SQL SERVER 2000 than in Access database.

But in the end it all comes down to how far you want to extend the application. If you are thinking of making this an Enterprise Application than SQL SERVER is a good choice. If you only want the basic update, insert, delete and select functionality then you are better off using MS Access database.

I hope I answered your questions.

I was thinking more along the lines of not using a database at all.
